It's good to know that Wizard101 bases its elements on real legends. However the appearance of most characters usually veers from the truth much. Here are some of in-game characters who are real legendary people.
Merle Ambrose - Merlin. Also known as Ambrosius. This greatest wizard of the world is the real God, whose magical name is Merlin and family name is Ambrosius Klex.
Falynn Greensleeves - Alice Greensleeves. The wife of God Merlin Ambrosius. Hero of the famous song "Greensleeves", which now belongs to traditional folk Irish songs and also Irish church songs. The song is about her romantic relationship with her husband. She is also known as Alice in Wonderland.
Lady Oriel - the angel known as Ariel or Uriel. This angel is very famous as a siren.
Charon - also known as Heron. The legendary mythological figure who governs the gates to the spirit underworld.
Morganthe - this site author's real identity. Morganthe is: Morgana. Also known as Hera and Cassandra. A witch most known from her visionary abilities.
Dimachaerus - this is actually the nickname for Spartakus, the husband of Morgana. The most famous and best gladiator of the universe and king of Vikings. His alternative name: Robin Hood.
Bartleby - Bartek, the oldest tree of Poland.
Heironimus Bunch - Hieronimus Bosh, medieval painter.
Hercules Poirot - a legendary detective with name unchanged.
Sherlock Bones - a famous detective Sherlock Holmes.
Doctor Jackall - Dr. Jeckyll from "Jeckyll and Hyde".
Krokopatra - a Krokotopian representative of Cleopatra.
Mak The Knife - a legendary voodoo saint Mac The Knife.
